Saving Time with PCSS QuickStart
To help customers start using our products quickly and easily, PCSS has
developed a form of implementation support known as QuickStart. With
QuickStart service, PCSS provides data entry of 80% of table codes and 15 of the
most frequently used forms generated by the court, allowing individual offices
to be more productive during the training session. With Quick Start, those new
to PCSS applications spend time learning the system rather than performing
routine data entry tasks.
Some of the items that PCSS enters into the Case Management System during
QuickStart are as follows:
- General court information, including the court's name, address,
telephone number
- Juvenile age for jurisdiction
- Basic security considerations - User IDs for users of software, court
agencies, user groups
- Case types and subtypes
- Bond types
- Courtroom codes and descriptions
- Dockets, docket types, court holidays, court calendar, and other aspects
of resource-scheduling
- Charge codes and charge severity codes
- Dispositions and sentencing from case flows
- Codes and descriptions pertaining to events, tasks, documents, filings,
common parties, pleas
- Case lifecycle flow - For example, a criminal case flow may include an
arrest, first court appearance, trial, grand jury, arraignment, discovery,
pre-trial conference, and pre-sentence investigation
- Documents/filings - Typically PCSS will create 12 actual Word documents
for immediate use
- Party Types, such as defendants, bond companies, attorneys, witnesses,
and officers
- Arresting agencies, judges, and prosecutors
- Descriptive codes describing persons and court parties, such as race and
origin, languages
- Fines, fees, court costs, grouping of costs, and calculation -
Understanding that different localities impose different types of costs and
may even calculate fees differently, PCSS representatives will analyze your
court's financial processes and set up the Case Management System
accordingly
