Compatible Products: JEMS – Judicial Enforcement Management System
Increased Efficiency for Officers and the Court - PCSS automated mobile citation/ticket writer solutions eliminate the need for clerks or officers to transcribe records into the system, resulting in tremendous time and labor savings. Information is recorded once, in the field, never requires additional manual processing, and is available to everyone with access to the system.
The PCSS Pocket JEMS (Ticket Writers) System automates the citation entry process, producing an electronic citation that may be viewed on the screen, printed multiple times with a portable printer, and uploaded to JEMS case management software.
Pocket JEMS, made for handheld devices such as PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants), decreases time spent on a traffic stop, increases accuracy in the citation entry process, and reduces redundant manual data entry. Errors associated with handwritten citations, including incorrect codes and descriptions, are eliminated. PCSS automated ticket writers and citation entry eliminates error and misinterpretation with many other errors, providing significant benefits to law enforcement and the court.
The process begins when the court defines configuration data and codes, downloading them to Pocket JEMS running on a handheld device. Next, officers identify default data that will be added to citations and tickets, such as agency and state.
Officers enter citations/tickets on a screen designed to mimic paper citations and tickets. Using a magnetic strip reader, officers swipe a driver’s license and data from the driver’s license appears on the screen. Next, with a portable printer, the officer prints a copy of the ticket for the violator. Later, tickets and citations can then be reviewed, re-printed, and notes added. Finally, the data is uploaded into JEMS case management software, where the court then processes the case.
PCSS automated mobile citation/ticket entry solutions offer courts and law enforcement agencies a strong return on investment by improving multiple areas of operations. The systems ease administrative backlog, streamline processing requirements, eliminate redundant data entry and the need for clerical support, resulting in citations that discourage challenges and hold up in court.
